JUVENTUS SUSPEND CACERES OVER DRINK- DRIVE CRASH

The Uruguay international has been fined as well as
excluded from the first-team squad after crashing his
Ferrari into a bus stop and two other vehicles while
under the influence
Juventus have suspended defender Martin Caceres
after he was involved in a drink-drive incident on
Tuesday.
The Uruguay international lost control of his Ferrari
just after midnight and struck a traffic island before
careering into a bus stop and two parked cars.
The 28-year-old's vehicle was badly damaged in the
collision but Caceres escaped unhurt from the crash.
However, the former Sevilla man was found to be
slightly over the limit and was consequently fined
€1,000, while his car has been impounded for 180 days.
In addition, Juventus have now fined and suspended
Caceres for his misconduct.
"This behaviour by Martin Caceres in the night between
September 28 and 29 is a serious violation of the
commitments undertaken at Juventus, as well as
damaging for the image of our club," a Bianconeri
statement read.
"Juventus, therefore, have applied the following
disciplinary measures: a fine and temporary exclusion
from playing for the first team."
This was not Caceres' first road-traffic accident, with
the defender having crashed into the entrance of a
metro station in Turin in 2013 and collided with two cars
in his native Montevideo last year.
Caceres had already been ruled out of Juve's
Champions League meeting with Sevilla on Wednesday
through injury .
