BAYELSA GUBER: Ex-Jonathan’s aide disagrees with Patience on Dickson’s endorsement

A former Senior Special Assistant to erstwhile President
Goodluck Jonathan on Domestic and Social Events, Dr.
Waripamowei Dudafa, at the weekend, distanced himself
from the alleged directive by former First Lady, Dame
Patience Jonathan, that her loyalists should support the
second term bid of Governor Seriake Dickson in the
December 5 governorship election.
He said though   the purported directive from the former
First Lady had not been confirmed, it did not include him
and had not changed his position that if the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) fields Dickson as its flag bearer in
the forthcoming election, it will fail woefully.
The former presidential aide, in a statement by a former
Secretary to the defunct pro-Jonathan’s group, the
Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN), Hon. Gesiye
Isowo, denied that Dame Jonathan  directed him and many
others to support Dickson on his second term bid.
Dudafa, a former Bayelsa lawmaker and Commissioner for
Local Government and Community Development, had been
expelled from the PDP for alleged anti-party activities.
He was alleged to have sponsored the election of the
victorious Abiye Tarabina of the All Progressives Grand
Alliance (APGA) during the last state House of Assembly
election.
But Dudafa’s loyalists accused Dickson of instigating his
expulsion from the PDP.
The loyalists claimed that such support for the governor was
not deserved until the right things were done with their
principal’s recall to the party.
