Salami, Kwambe top list of CHAN qualifier

Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, on Monday named 19
players for Nigeria’s African Nations Championship
qualifying fixture against Burkina Faso in October 18.
Warri Wolves duo Gbolahan Salami and Solomon Kwambe
and Premier League top scorer Sunshine Stars striker Tunde
Adeniji (with 16 goals) top the list of players for the
match. The tournament scheduled for Rwanda next year is
meant for players plying their trade in Africa.
Oliseh also listed Ezekiel Bassey (Enyimba), Godwin Obaje
(Wikki Tourists), Bright Onyedikachi (IfeanyiUbah), Dayo
Ojo (Sunshine Stars), Ifeanyi Mathew (El-Kanemi),
Abdulrazaq Abdul (Enyimba), Usman Mohammed (Taraba),
Bature Yaro (Nasarawa) and Osas Okoro (Enugu Rangers).
Others are Kalu Orji (Enugu Rangers), Idris Aloma
(Enyimba), Samson Gbadebo (Lobi Stars), Jamiu Alimi
(Shooting Stars) and Stephen Eze (Sunshine Stars), David
Obiazor (Heartland) and Okemute Odah (Wolves).
The Nigeria Football Federation on its official website on
Tuesday directed the players to arrive in Port Harcourt on
October 4 for training ahead of the encounter with the
Etalons at the Adokiye Amiesiamaka Stadium on October 18.
The return leg comes up in Ouagadougou on October 25.
The six players who were invited for the Eagles’
international friendlies against DR Congo and Cameroon in
Belgium on October 8 and 11 respectively will join the 19
players on October 12. The players are Femi Thomas,
Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Chima Akas, Austin Oboroakpo, Paul
Onobi and Prince Aggreh.
